Starting off from the local economy, touching upon creativity and innovation, to come up with projects for the future is the theme running through ChiantIdee: rassegna di progetti per il futuro, which will take place on 22, 23 and 24 October in the town hall of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, the Chianti municipality that contains one of the largest manufacturing centres in the province of Florence, as well as deep-rooted traditions. A new and ambitious project initiated by the town council of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, which, in partnership with a group of local managers and the municipalities of Barberino Val d’Elsa and San Casciano Val di Pesa, intends to create a new local economy pertaining to culture, tradition and the environment, thereby encouraging new job opportunities, promoting local products and the best creative ideas aimed at creating an innovative economy in Chianti. Creativity and innovation are also viewed as key words to regain the will to meet between entrepreneurs, trade associations, bodies and institutions all united to develop common interests and stimulate intellectual competitiveness. ChiantIdee: rassegna di progetti per il futuro sees the involvement of the Faculty of Engineering of Istituto Superiore di Sant’Anna of Pisa, CNR di Firenze (National Research Council of Florence), numerous leading businesses in their sectors, public and private companies, bodies and institutions, but the project is open all the time to everyone: companies, entrepreneurs, young graduates and graduands, artisans, companies, etc. as long as you have some creative and innovative genius! The projects that will be presented at ChiantIdee: rassegna di progetti per il futuro will be divided into the following fields: manufacturing and precision mechanics, recycling, renewable energies, food and farming, arts and crafts, and free time productivity. Having seen the initial previews of the projects we’re certain that you will also be amazed in discovery how much creativity, innovation and research can do, becoming the driving forces of the future of Chianti, and much more besides. During the showcase, the Lions Club of Barberino will hand out a prize for the best idea, but everyone truly deserves a prize in Tavarnelle; the whole area has come together for an extraordinary project that we’re sure will carry on after the event. In a time of stagnation like the present the response cannot lie anywhere other than “in the intelligence of doing and innovating”, in a world that pushes towards globalisation it is necessary to revitalise the local economy as a platform to face the challenges of the future.
