Tuscany, land of wine, but also land of roses,an extraordinary collection that enriches the historical gardens and private villas in the area, where roses resemble people: perfumed, noble, invasive, wicked and transforming. In Cavriglia (province of Arezzo), from 1 May to 15 June, the doors will be opened to the Carla Fineschi rose nursery, where you can marvel at the over 8,000 species of modern rose or the antique varieties, created over 100 years ago by ingenious gardeners.
In Chiesanuova, in the municipality of San Casciano, we find the Giardino delle Rose: classical and English roses, inserted into the Mediterranean maquis, creating a perfumed and harmonious landscape.
Guided tours will be organised in the rose garden on 8, 15 and 22 May coinciding with the major flowering period.
Furthermore, on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May in the town of San Casciano Val di Pesa, the eighth edition of Rose, pane e vino will be held.
Two days in which to admire the many varieties of roses and in particular the Chianti Rose (Bengalensis or Chinensis semperflorens), used in vineyards above the rows as a natural tool to detect any disease in the vine.
